  • LOOK IN THE MIRROT FOR ALL THE MANIPULATIONS WITH LENSES

  • THE LENS IS INSIDE OUT IF THE LENS HAS THE SHAPE OF A SOUPE PLATE (see at the right side )

  • EXPERIENCED WEARERS CAN PUT THE LENSES IN THEIR EYES WITHOUT FIXATION OF THE UPPER EYELID. BEGINNERS CAN'T DO THAT

  • INSERTION: OPEN YOUR EYES WIDELY AND PLACE THE LENS ON YOUR EYE

  • TAKE OUT METHOD NR 1 : LOOK TO YOUR NOSE AND SLIDE THE LENS TO YOUR SIDE

  • SLIDE THE LENS COMPLETELY TO THE SIDE

  • TAKE OUT THE LENS WITH THUMG AND INDEX FINGER

  • TAKE OUT METHOD Nr 2 : OPEN YOUR EYES WIDELY - PUSH YOUR EYELIDS TO EACH OTHER

  • THE LENS IS PUSHED OUT BY THE EYELIDS AND STICKS TO THE EYELASHES

  • TAKE OUT METHOD nr 3 : PUSH THE LENS UP WHILE YOU FIX THE UPPER EYELID

  • TAKE OUT THE LOOSE LENS WITH THUMB AND INDEX FINGER

  • MAINTAIN THE LENSES ALWAYS IN A SPECIAL LIQUID

Lenses are made from a fragile plastic,  that gets soft by take in a large part of their wight into water. That's why you have to take care of them very careful and  hygienic.
-   Hygienic treatment
Always wash your hands before you touch the lenses (mainly your fingertips) and be sure that al the soap is gone. Also always wash your hands when you take the lenses out!
Always keep your container clean. Change the container  regular (rule: new bottle – new container)
Try not to touch the lenses with sharp objects or with your fingernails (cut them short is a good advice).

INSERTING

1a. The lens may not be inside out or damaged
1b. Make your lens wet with the liquid (NaCL 0.9 % or Clerz)
2. Put the lens on the top of your forefinger.
3. Take the middle finger of the same hand to pull down you lower eyelid.
4. Pull with your forefinger of your other hand the upper eyelid up.
5. Look at the lens and put it on the iris of your eye ("the colored part of your eye). Look aside, so the lens can move to.

REMOVING THE LENSES

technique 1: removing with your eyelids
1. Look ahead and pull your eyelids far away so the whole lens is visible.
2. Push the edges of your eyelids against the white part of your eyes and pull.
3. While you keep pulling the eyelids, turn the eye to the nose and close your eyes slowely. because of the pressure of the eyelids the lens will fall or hang on your eyelashes.
* If this disn't work you can always try to close your eyelids while you push the edges of your eyelid against the white part of the eye.
4. Take the lens careful without  folding it or touching it with your nails, and save thim in the liquid

technique 2: removing with your fingers
1. Pull with your  middle finger the lower eyelid down.
2. Pull with you middle finger of your other hand the upper eyelid up.
3. Try to take the lens with your thumb and forefinger.

ADJUSTING TO YOUR LENSES

Your eyes will have to adjust the first days. The beartime has to be expand from a half day in the beginning to a full day after 2 days.

LIFE SPAN

The life span of your lenses can be determined by 3 factors :
1. How the lenses are treated. Follow the prescribed method. Do not roll or squint the lenses.
2. The regelarity and thoroughgoing. You have to clean the lenses 10 sec/day (read: rubbing the lenses) with liquid, after you took out the lenses, is a must to keep the lenses clean and pure.
3. The compilation of the tear fluid. tears can be different from person to person and contain many different elements. Some of those elements can attacht on the lens even if you clean regular. a intensive cleaning is necessary. Your specialist can give you lots of information and advices.
Monthly lenses are best replaces after 1 month. If you don't wear the lenses every day: the lenses may be used 30 days. Even if you only wear the lenses for a couple of hours it counts for 1 whole day! When you wore them 30 days you have to  throw them away!

IMPORTANT TIPS

1.       Your blink pattern and frequency are essential for succesfull wearing lenses. Insufficient blinking or incomplete blinking can lead to problems.
2.       Try not to rub in your eyes, that way you can lose or damage the lens or even when something is underneath your lens you can damage the eye!
3.       Your lenses are very sensitive for sharp objects. A little damage can be the cause of the lens ripping in 2.
4.       The use of other liquids, can make your lenses unusable.
5.       Do not put the lenses in your mouth. Some people do that sometimes but then you can get a inflammation very soon!
6.       Never put in a dirty or damaged lens, this can damage the eye!
7.       If they are objects on the lens where you do'nt know the effect of: don't put them in, ask your specialist for advice (chemicals, steam, spatters, e.o.)
8.       Always tell your specialist what kind of medication you take.
9.       Only use make-up that is water-solvable. Products based on fat or oil will make the lenses unusable. Also watch out of products who remove make-up!.
10.   Always keep your eyes closed while you atomize hair spray.
11.   When the lens drys out the lens can stick on the eye and then it will be hard to get te lens of the eye :
     - drip some little drups in the eye (complete or comfort drops ( Blink or Cellufresh) and wait till the lens comes off
12.   the controls that your specialist prescribes are very important for the safety and succes of wearing lenses.

WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO BACK TO YOUR SPECIALIST

In these cases you realy have to take your lenses out. When you have these signs you can always contact your specialist :
     - when your eyes are red
     - when your vision changes
     - when your lenses irritate
     - when you notice that your eyes produce more tears
     - when you are troubled with light
