Workingsmechanism of Lucentis, Avastin and Macugen: inhibition of development of blood vessels

THE MALFUNCTION OF VEGF : 

-In processes of the disease in the retina (age related macula degeneration or clogging of the blood vessels by diabetes or eyetrombose)  get created by sick tissues VEGF (= vascular endotelial growthfactor).

- VEGF  tickels the blood vessels to make new blood vessels.

-Unfortunaltely are those new blood vessels of bad quality and they will start leeking and bleeding.

THE FAVOURABLE RESULT OF LUCENTIS, AVASTIN  AND MACUGEN :

From the above shows that in sick processes,  like age related macula degeneration, diabetes and eye thrombose,  the released VEGF is best inhibited . This is done by "angiogenese inhibitors"  like Lucentis, Avastin and Macugen, who blocks the receptors for VEGF, so they can't show their disastrous effect.
