EYE HEALTH
Nobody wants to become blind. The first thing you do when you meet someone, is recording the eye contact.
Therefore, it is remarkable that eye care is strongly neglected:
• Most people have more shoes than glasses. Usually they try to do everything with one pair of glasses: sports / entertainment / watching TV / reading / computer work. There are still no shoes, who can do anything. Many try desperately to match the color of their shoes to their dress, while hardly anyone thinks that you are in a conversation, they look into your eyes and not at your feet!
• Many opt for the cheapest glasses, although everyone knows that cheap is not usually the best buy.
HOW CAN I FEEL THAT MY EYES NEED HELP?
Many perceive that their eyes at the end of the day feels "TIRED" or "IRRITATED" . You can even get headaches and double vision. Help for the eyes is more than welcome!
HOW CAN I HELP MY EYES?
• 50% of young people have EYE DISORDERS, who can be helped with glasses. Once
you're 40 years, everyone needs glasses.
The eye disorder evolves over time. Therefore, an annual review is certainly in order: CHECK yearly - SEE clearly.
• Skin and eyes are much simular to each other. Many people (especially women) feel that their skin becomes dry and MOISTER their skin. Few people realize that their eyes also have to be moistered. Artificial tears are therefore strongly recommended, eg Blink contacts. Ask your ophtalmologist or optician for further advice.
• 90% of people knows that the SUN is harmful to the skin (burns / cancer) and protect their skin. But only few people know that the sun is also harmfull for your eyes. You can get much faster caract than otherwise. Sunglasses are therefore far too little worn. Some people wear their sunglasses more in their hair than on their nose. Especially for children it is necessary to wear sunglasses, because their skin and eyes are the most sensitive. The ultimate protection are light color-changing glasses: These glasses are always adapting to the light intensity. So you always have an adequate adaptation to light. No luxury for your eyes!
• All laughingly said that you should eat more CARROTS in order to have good eyes.
It has long been outdated! Unlike what the people say, it aren't the carrots that you should eat, but the dark leafy vegetables like broccoli and spinach are really important.
These vegetables contain vitamins zeaxantine and lutein. Omega 3 fatty acids from oily fish (eg salmon, eel and herring) are also healty for the eyes. In age related macula degeneration, you can take additional vitamins in order to try stabilize the degeneration.
This is been disputed if the vitamins should really work or not... The vitamins that you can take as additional nutritional supplements are: Nutrof / Preservison 3 / lutom ...
• SMOKING AND ALCOHOL is bad for the body and also for the eyes.
