ZEISS IOL-MASTER 500

This machine allows you to measure the lenght of the eye with laserinterpherometry. This is much more precisely as the previously used a-scan echography. That one used a sonde, who came directly in contact with the eye! This dented the eye a little bit, with a measurement error as result. With laser interpherometry we don't have to use a sonde, what improves the accuracy! 
The lenght of the eye is a very important factor to calculate the strenght of the lensimplant. If the accuracy improves, the calculation of the lensimplant will be better. 

With this machine is a new software included, what allows a better calculation of the lens implant. Moreover the machine allows us to give corrections based on light deviations.
 

You will understand from the above, that we, with the purchase of the new machine,strain for a correction so small as possible after the surgery.So the most patients will see properly without glasses for far. Only for high visual demanding tasks (tv-driving a car-especially at night) have to be worn glasses. There are almost always reading glasses needed.
